NURTURING BELONGING FOR OUR BELOVED LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY

OUR INITIATIVES

how it all began

Created out of a lack of belonging…

In 2019, our founder led a research project focused on the Middle Tennessee region to gain a greater understanding of what the LGBTQIA+ community needed in order to thrive. The research clearly detailed a lack of belonging and a deep seated desire for greater programming and services for our population.

In late 2021, we came together was to address these findings… and by March 2022, inclusion tennessee was born.

Our founding board worked collectively over the course of a year to identify specific program strategies for each of the needs detailed in the 2019 Community Visioning Project, put together a detailed strategy and executed on additional research to understand the greatest needs in our community.

PROGRAM AGENDA

Based on our continued research and engagement of the trans, gx, queer, and LGB+ population, Tennessee is home to tens of thousands of people who are part of our diverse community. With the continued attacks on our lived experiences, many have found this region to be unwelcoming and in some cases hostile. Through our programming, inclusion tennessee is working to create joy-centered programming that fills the gaps not yet addressed by other initiatives.
